Frequently Asked Questions

What are eBay item specifics?

Item specifics are structured product details required by eBay when listing, things like Brand, Color, Size, or MPN. Some are required per category, others optional. Filling them out accurately improves your listing’s visibility and search performance on eBay.

How do I map eBay item specifics when uploading products from Shopify to eBay?

In your Manage Profiles, go to the Item Specifics section and map each eBay specific to the corresponding Shopify field (e.g. variant options, metafields, or tags). For specifics with no Shopify equivalent, enter a fixed default value. Ritafy will apply these mappings automatically on every sync.

Does inventory syncing work in both directions?

Not yet. Inventory sync currently works one way: Shopify → eBay only. Changes made to stock in Shopify will update your eBay listings, but eBay sales won’t adjust Shopify inventory. We recommend using Shopify as your main inventory source in the meantime.

What should I do when I see an error message?

Click the Resolve button next to the error to read the full message and follow the suggested fix. If you’re still stuck, use the in-app chat to contact our support team and we’ll help you sort it out.

Do Upload Profile settings override global settings?

Yes. Settings in your Upload Profile always take priority over global settings. This includes VAT settings, product info sync preferences, and more. Use global settings as your default baseline and Upload Profiles to customize per product group or category.

Does the 100-import quota apply to importing from Shopify to eBay, eBay to Shopify?

Both. 100-import quota applies for both importing from Shopify to eBay and eBay to Shopify.

Does the quota only apply to linked products, or are unlinked eBay orders counted as well?

No. Please note that the monthly quota only applies once your eBay products are successfully linked to Shopify.
